About Us

A wise man once said, “in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” While death can be an unforeseeable certainty, your income taxes don’t necessarily have to be an anxiety-ridden emergency, as it’s commonly perceived to be. For the majority of its existence, America didn’t even have an income tax until 1913 when the 16th amendment was ratified. Then in 1924, in a historical court case, the US Supreme Court ruled that “Congress has power to tax the income received by a native citizen of the United States domiciled abroad from property situated abroad.” This introduced the legal precedent that US citizens are taxed on their worldwide income, regardless of the location of the source of their income, residence or domicile, as described in clause D of the last page of every US passport. As the years passed by, additions to the law have made the situation for US citizens abroad even more complex and complicated, however once simple fact remains. Every US citizen whose annual, gross, worldwide income exceeds certain thresholds must file a US tax return every year. Failure to do so can result in federal civil and potential criminal penalties.

For US citizens residing outside of the US, completing your annual tax return can be a long, arduous task. We take the anxiety and uncertainty out of the annual obligation that international Americans are subject to. Millions of Americans living overseas don’t know what to do, what information to report, what forms to complete or how to contact the tax authorities in the States to stay compliant with the law. Furthermore, for US citizens that own and operate businesses in a tax jurisdiction outside of the US, issues can arise as to how to establish the proper entity structure, how to attract investment and how to pay yourself. Whether your income is 100% foreign sourced, or 100% US sourced while residing overseas, or a combination of both, we use the most up to date tools and resources to make sure our clients take advantage of all of the benefits that they possibly can in the US tax code. We are serious about making sure that all of our clients’ tax returns are completed accurately, and filed by the deadline every year. This enables our clients to maintain compliance with the US tax code, while paying only to right amount of income tax that they’re legally obligated to pay.
